Our Process and Fees

Sacramento Estate Planning Lawyers

Our estate planning process is designed to ensure your confidence in our planning process each step of the way. Every decision is reviewed with you multiple times and yet within a short period of time after meeting with one of our attorneys, your family could be totally protected and your trust binder fully signed and executed.

It’s the perfect combination of efficiency and caring.

Estate Planning Process

The planning process itself begins with an initial meeting that is an opportunity for you to meet with one of our attorney’s so that you each can determine whether there is a good fit between you and our firm.

During this initial meeting, your attorney will walk you through exactly what your loved ones would have to do and where your assets would go if something happened to you.

You will then be able to determine if there was anything about your current plan (or California’s default plan for you) that you wouldn’t like, or that you wouldn’t like your family members to have to deal with and you will get clear on what you would want to happen if something happened to you.

Assuming there is a good fit between you and our firm, your attorney will help you to choose the planning level and fee that is right for your family (we have three different planning levels to accommodate your needs – and they are all inclusive, so there are no surprises at the end) and you and your attorney will then design a plan that will give you the peace of mind of knowing your family will be taken care of in the event the unthinkable happens.

After this meeting we will draft a summary of the meeting and the choices and decisions you made along with any additional questions or items that we need to finalize  your trust.  This will be sent to you so that you can review and confirm that these are your wishes. Any questions that you have will be discussed.  Once you confirm your wishes we begin drafting the hundreds of pages that make up your estate planning binder and all of your important documents.

After the design of your plan is complete, you will return to our office to sign and have your planning documents and deeds notarized and recorded and your family and assets will be totally protected in the event of your death as of that point. In most law firms, the relationship ends there.

This is Where Our Law Firm is Very Different

We see signing your estate planning documents as the beginning of our lifetime relationship with your family, and not just the delivery of a set of documents. If your plan is not properly updated over time, your documents become worth no more than the paper they were written on.

As your assets change, as your family changes, as the law changes, all of these changes must be accommodated and updated within your trust. We at the StoneCrest Law Firm make sure that happens by communicating with you regularly, with the ability for you to have your plan reviewed at least every two years (at no additional charge) by our attorneys, and by keeping you informed so you can make the best possible decisions for your family during your lifetime and so that you can have the peace of mind of knowing we will be here for the people you love most in the event of your incapacity or death. In addition, our clients and their families enjoy discounted fees for trust administration.

We look forward to meeting with you if you have already made your appointment, if however you have not and if this sounds like the kind of relationship you are looking for, please contact us so we can schedule time for you to meet with one of our Sacramento Estate Planning Lawyers for a complimentary consultation.
